12/05/09 games

JJ had 3 games on Saturday, December 5, 2009. He had 2 Squirts games and a Mites game, so he had a busy hockey day!

In his first Squirts game, JJ scored 2 goals with 3 assists. They won 7 to 6.

They also won their second Squirts game 4 to 2. The ref called a penalty on JJ in this game for tripping (although, none of us saw it. JJ said it wasn't tripping, but he still had to sit in the penalty box for 1 minute 30 seconds). He was Assistant Captain in this game!

In his Mites games, he played against the White team first. JJ scored 2 goals and the game was a tie 6 to 6.

Next, they played against the Yellow team. JJ scored 4 goals with 1 assist. They won this game with a score of 12 to 8.

11/21/09 Game

JJ had a Mites game early this morning. His game started at 7:45!

They played the Black team at first. JJ scored the very first goal in this game, and then...bam!...scored another one! When they switched, JJ's team then played the against the yellow team.

He played good today and he had a lot of fun doing it!

11/19/09 Game

No pictures for this game, but JJ played great! In his Mites game, he scored 7 goals!! After that, he had a Squirts game, and he scored 2 goals in that one! He's playing very well this year so far, and seems to be much more comfortable with his stick handling and his "hockey stops".

First games: November 2009

Well, here it is another season and JJ is starting off great! He's actually playing on two different teams this year: Mites level (the younger team that he played on last year) and the Squirts level (the next level up). The name of his team on the Squirts level is Black Ice (how cool is that?!?). In his Squirts game this morning, he scored a goal (goal #3); they won 4-1. In his Mites games, he scored a total of 6 goals! Jeremy is helping to coach both teams this year.

JJ is #10 on the Squirts league and is #42 on the Mites.

3/29/09 Roller hockey: Game 1

JJ is not taking a break from playing hockey over the summer! He's playing roller hockey at FunQuest in Collierville. These are pictures from his first roller hockey game on March 29, 2009. Here is his first face-off!

Scrimmage!

JJ had a scrimmage game today. The coaches taught them about playing certain positions and some skating and stick handling techniques. It's getting tougher, so JJ will need to focus and work hard. He played left wing, right wing, center, and some defense today. A few times, he got aggressive and went after the puck; one time, he even got right in there and fought for it. He did good today. We're very proud of you, JJ!
